We warm-heartedly welcome you to the Department of Philological Studies!
The Faculty of Philological Studies was established at the same time with the University of Novi Pazar in 2002. The first academic year was 2002-2003 and at that time the faculty was named The Faculty of Humanities. The first dean was professor Sait Kacapor, PhD (from 2002 to September 2008).
Since 2009 the University of Novi Pazar, as an integrated university, has been organizing its study programs through six departments. The studies of the Faculty of Humanities have been conducted at the Department of Philological Studies and professor PhD Samina Dazdarevic was its first dean.
From that point on, the faculty and later the department have been expanded with visiting professors from Serbia, Bosnia, Macedonia and Montenegro.
Assistant professor Jahja Fehratovic, PhD, has been the Head of the department since September 2013.
