STUDY PROGRAM: Preschool teacher
Preschool teacher study program lasts three years or six semesters. The requirements for admission to the study program: completed four-year secondary school, entranceexamination passed, place on the list in the approved enrollmentquota. The academic title that is acquired upon completion ofthis program is “Preschool teacher”.
By mastering compulsory and elective study areas, students need to acquire necessary knowledge and skills – qualifications that include skills for professional activities in the field of preschool education.
The purpose of the Preschool teacher program lies in the education of students for professional performance through appropriate teaching methods, to perform vocational training and to prepare children for school.
By mastering the compulsory and elective study areas, students need to acquire necessary knowledge and skills – qualifications and competencies that include the ability to perform professionally in pre-school institutions. Study program concept is made this way. All courses planned by the study program are directly related to the future profession. Students work on pedagogical theory and practice, and then psychology, literature, art, etc.
Pedagogical practices have a significant proportion as well as methodological practices of teaching methods, which are organized and carried out after each semester. Therefore, a student comes into contact with the future, from the very beginning of studies, by working in the educational groups in a pre-school institution.
- Pedagogical practice pays great attention to introducing students to the planning, programming and evaluation of educational work. Professional practice is planned for the fourth year of study when students are trained to do educational activities in the provided fields of development, i.e., in the field of six teaching methods given in the study program. Study program Preschool teachers aims to enable students to gain following skills:
- To create affective climate that provides children with sense of security and favorable development of their personality;
- to create favorable conditions and situations for optimal physical, socio-emotional and cognitive development, as well as development of communication and creativity;
- to enrich and organize social experience of children;
- to create a cultural context in which children grow up;
- to promote development of speech as well as drama, art, music and dance creativity;
- to assist children in acquiring the basic concepts of living and inanimate world, of time, space and quantity;
- to cooperate with families by assisting them in achieving their educational role, as well as with school and social environment;
- to prepare children for elementary school.
Starting from the goal of the university education of preschool teachers, their roles and tasks in kindergartens and other institutions, as well as desirable outcomes of their education, are skills that mark the completion of undergraduate studies, following competencies are of primary significance:
- teachers need to acquire appropriate knowledge and understandingwhich relies on secondary education, to develop capacity and improve skills that will enable them toserve their specific roles in educational work with children of preschool age in a responsible, professional, creative and relatively independent way,
- to be able to perform in all phases of educational work in cooperation with other members of the institution expert team where they work, children’s parents and professional community services, starting from the phase of insight in children and parents’ need as well as the specific conditions in which this work is carried out, to programming, planning and evaluation of what has already been realized which at the same time presents an introduction to a new phase of programming and planning;
- to be able to follow the pace of modern science achievements (developmental psychology,
pre-school pedagogy, general and special teaching methods of educational work, etc.), and in accordance with them, be able to apply modern interactive, cooperative, workshop and other methods, forms of organization and methods of work, with respect to children’s rights, abilities, needs and interests of children they raise and educate; - to acquire practical skills needed to be a role model teacher (from the field of arts, manual labor, computer science, first aid,environmental protection, etc.)
- to possess the ability to independently set off infurther studies.
By mastering the study program students acquire general skills through acquisition of general laws, basic principles, understanding of educational process, development of appropriate skills of analysis, synthesis and foreseeing solutions and consequences, as well as research methods and techniques in areas of their studies. Graduates acquire the right of direct employment in institutions for preschool education.

MASTER STUDIES
PRESCHOOL TEACHER
Postgraduate academic studies of Master-preschool teacher lasts for a year. They are divided into two study semesters. The credit score of academic studies is 60 ECTS credits, 30 ECTS credits per semester. The design and defense of the Master’s thesis is evaluated with 14 ECTS credits. The curriculum value of each subject is expressed in the curriculum of the study program.
The study program consists of three compulsory courses (Methodology of Scientific Research, Comparative Pedagogy, and Theoretical Didactics Models) and two of the elective fields (I-Contemporary perception of education and training aims, Education Management).
(II-Linguistic basis of speech by children, Natural forms of movement). Predicted courses include theoretical and methodological, scientific-professional and professional-applicative ones. Compulsory courses are scientific-professional and theoretical-methodological ones. Teaching takes place within the scope of lectures (monologue, dialog, interactive, text methods), exercises (dialog, interactive, text methods) and consulting teaching. The list of elective courses consists of scientific-professional courses and expert-applicative ones.
The study program follows appropriate movements from the expert-methodical domain, which ensures the integration and fitting of teaching into problem, correlation and integration systems, and enables learning by detecting. Postgraduate academic studies of the Master – Preschool teacher are in line with contemporary approaches to teaching and methodology of individual courses. Through them, an insight is achieved into the methods, methodology, teaching technology and creates an image of the demands of contemporary teaching at the end of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st century.
Course structure at the master studies –Preschool teacher is directly connected with the future call of preschool teachers, and they aim to specialize and competently train for an independent and professional work of teachers as well as their critical approach to pedagogical theory and practice in the field of preschool education. By mastering the master study program, a student acquires professional competences, a deeper understanding of the educational-training process, and strengthens his attitude towards scientific research.
Starting from the goals and tasks of higher education, and the role of a preschool teacher in pre-school institutions, following competences are acquired:
- To ensure that a preschool teacher acquires appropriate knowledge, professionally improve knowledge and skills in the field of education and training area that will enable them to professionally independently and creative wake up by working with children of preschool age.
- To be able to actively participate in all stages of education and training work through programming and planning of activities, as well as adequate evolution of the achieved results.
- To follow the contemporary development of scientific achievements, especially in the field of pedagogical-psychological sciences and in accordance with their development dynamics, to be trained for the application of contemporary interactive, workshop and other methods and organized forms of work
- In addition to respecting the general rights, opportunities and needs of the child being educated.
- Through a master study program, a student builds an explicit and recognizable personality of preschool teacher who, with his or her professional, moral and general human qualities, will positively influence the quality of pre-school children’s development.

STUDY PROGRAM: PSYCHOLOGY
Undergraduate studies of Psychology are conducted through four academic years (eight semesters).
Total number of ECTS credits that the students should get in order to complete this level is 240. Undergraduate psychology study plan includes a number of compulsory and elective courses.
Compulsory courses include those areas which are fundamental for understanding the basic theoretical assumptions and systems of knowledge underlying contemporary psychology: like courses of general psychology, scientific courses of methodological research and statistical methods, developmental physiology courses, developmental psychology, personality psychology, social psychology and the core areas of applied psychology. Students acquire basic knowledge and skills through an interactive teaching process, self-study and seminars, and through work in a psychological laboratory, computer classroom and through field work, mainly by researching relevant respondents with use of psychological instruments.
The purpose of the undergraduate studies of psychology is to provide basic education in leading theoretical systems, concepts and research methods with the aim of understanding behavior of individuals and small groups in social context, and in the context of human development. At this level of studies, the emphasis is particularly placed on the adoption and demonstration of conceptual knowledge of psychology’s core areas with the empirical understanding of discipline’s basis. The core areas include personality psychology, developmental and social psychology and of course, research methods. This kind of study program structure equips graduate students with skills of analyzing and integrating different theoretical perspectives that are necessary for further study of psychology or other similar studies.
In professional terms, this level of study allows graduate students to critically interpret scientific and technical literature, to correctly and methodologically evaluate his or her own and someone else’s work thereby applying statistical reasoning, to use skills on a computer to
organize and to participate in group work applying knowledge of group processes, etc. This level of studies provides professional qualification for the independent performance of professions that require understanding of sampling, statistical data processing in the humanities, presentation of results, an insight into the psychological literature and carrying out of pre-designed psychological projects. Study program is also the base for further studies of psychology and the acquisition of specific professional knowledge and skills.
The objectives of the study program are:
- to introduce students to the subject, basic methods and development of psychology as a science and profession,
- to train students to self-apply statistical methods in the field of socio – humanities and other related disciplines,
- to master the basic psychological concepts and major theoretical systems,
- to introduce students to the basic principles of human mental development,
- to train students to understand behavior of individuals and groups in a narrow and broad social context,
- to introduce students to different directions of the development and application of psychology with the final aim of guiding students to a specific professional profile.
Upon completion of undergraduate psychology studies, students are expected to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the course, basic methods of development and current status of psychology as a science and profession, to understand psychological concepts and broader and narrower theoretical systems, knowledge of the basic methods of scientific investigation and behavior research, knowledge of construction rules and evaluation of psychological measuring instruments, detailed knowledge of statistical procedures and understanding statistics’ role in psychology, comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the principles and factors of human psychological development as well as knowledge of typical areas of applied branch of psychology and their relationship with psychology as a science.
A graduate student is expected to be able to independently analyze and compare different theoretical systems and models, to understand and adequately and coherently interpret the results of research published in the professional literature, to independently monitor and evaluate his or her own work, to form an ethical way of judging the events he or she deals with and of methodology dealing with these events in accordance with the general moral principles and ethics code of the profession, to recognize the need for continuous education and to achieve team communication.

MASTER STUDIES
STUDY PROGRAM: APPLIED PSYCHOLOGY
Study, master program Applied psychology is intended for those who want to broaden knowledge and acquire skills in fields related to consultative and consultative work in different contexts. This study program also qualify students for competent leadership and participation in research projects for different purposes.
Acquiring the predicted contents of the Psychology master study, the aim is to provide professional education from the leading theoretical systems and concepts, and research methods in order to understand the behavior of individuals and small groups both in the social as well as in the pedagogical and educational context. At this level of academic studies, special emphasis is placed on the adoption and professional development of knowledge and scientific methodology in the field of personality neuropsychology. In professional terms, the structure of this study program enables the student to critically access scientifically-qualified literature, to methodologically and statistically correctly evaluate his or her work as well as the work of others, and to critically reflect on work and activities in the field of psychological theory and practice.
Having completed master studies, it is expected that the student completely independently and professionally manages the scientific methodology by understanding the psychological theoretical systems of the current development of psychology as a science and profession, as well as knowing the basic rules of the evolution of psychological measuring instruments, as well as the detailed acquiring of statistical procedures in psychology. Throughout the subject fields during the course of study, the student will be qualified for a comprehensive recognition and understanding of the psychological development of a personality, as well as recognition of typical areas of Applied psychology.
Acquiring the envisaged master study program Applied Psychology students will:
- Adopt ethical principles in accessing clients in different formats (working with individuals, couples, groups).
- Gaining the skills of interviewing in different contexts (education, health, social protection, corporate systems, etc.) and with different types of clients.
- Students will be trained for consultative work with different populations (children, youth, adults, mature, marginalized and vulnerable groups).
- Students will acquire brief counsel interventions with people who do not show severe psychopathological phenomena (non-clinical and sub-clinic populations).
- Students will be trained to coordinate work and participate in projects and in applied psychology research.
- Students will be trained to plan, organize and implement various preventive activities in the wider social community.
Completing these studies, students will be prepared to continue education in the field of psychotherapy (various psychotherapeutic modalities), as well as further academic training.
