The University of Novi Pazar officially welcomed a new class of students and marked the beginning of the 2026/2027 academic year with a ceremony celebrating the distribution of student ID cards (indeks).

This year's event holds milestone significance, as the incoming freshmen join the landmark 25th anniversary class of the University of Novi Pazar.

„Quarter of a century of existence and work of our higher education institution is not just a number; it is a confirmation of a vision, earned trust, and countless success stories of our graduates across the globe. Today, that baton of knowledge and responsibility passes into your hands," stated the Rector of the University of Novi Pazar, Prof. Dr. Suad Bećirović.

Emphasizing the value of student years, the Rector highlighted that the ultimate goal of higher education extends beyond earning a degree—it lies in shaping young individuals into top experts as well as responsible and moral leaders.

The ceremony was attended by the President of the University Council, Dr. Rešad Plojović, the Vice-Rector, Heads of Departments, faculty members, associates, parents, and distinguished guests. The program was hosted by University of Novi Pazar students Adna Nurović and Andrej Janković, complemented by the rendition of the University Anthem and a cultural performance.

A highlight of the event was the presentation of student ID cards to top-scoring candidates from the entrance examination, followed by the distribution of cards to students across all departments and academic programs.

Following the main ceremony, freshmen joined faculty members for introductory classes in lecture rooms, the main amphitheater, and art studios, gaining firsthand experience of their future academic and creative working environment.

Dear freshmen, today you have taken the first step on your academic journey. Ahead of you lie years of knowledge, dedication, new experiences, lasting friendships, and personal and professional growth.
