Third-year students from the Department of Legal Sciences at the University of Novi Pazar, under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Maida Bećirović Alić, organized a panel discussion titled "Copyright in the Digital Age."
During the panel, students examined the importance and challenges of protecting copyright in the modern digital environment through several thematic segments.
Special emphasis was placed on the impact of digital technologies and the internet on the exercise and protection of authors' rights, as well as the need to balance free access to information with respect for intellectual property rights.
The participants highlighted that while digital platforms and modern communication channels enable faster knowledge exchange and easier access to information, they simultaneously increase the risk of unauthorized use, reproduction, and distribution of copyrighted works. In this context, the importance of raising awareness about copyright, academic integrity, and the responsible use of available resources was strongly emphasized.
The panel provided students with an opportunity to enhance their knowledge of contemporary legal challenges in the field of copyright through well-argued discussion and to consider potential solutions for more effective protection of intellectual property in the digital age.
