Purpose of the program

The University of Novi Pazar implements the Program for Acquiring Pedagogical, Psychological, and Methodological Competencies. The program is designed to provide participants with the fundamental knowledge and competencies necessary for successfully performing educational work in schools, in accordance with Article 8 of the Law on the Basics of the Education System (Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia, 72/2009, 52/2011, and 55/2013), which stipulates that educational work in schools can be performed by individuals with an education in psychological, pedagogical, and methodological disciplines acquired at a higher education institution during their studies or after graduation, with at least 30 credits and six points of practical experience in an institution, in accordance with the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System. The educational program is implemented by a higher education institution as part of an accredited study program or as a lifelong learning program, in accordance with regulations governing higher education. Additionally, the program is aligned with the Rulebook on Continuous Professional Development and Qualification for Teachers, Educators, and Professional Associates (Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia, 72/09, 52/11, and 55/13) and the Standards of Competencies for the Teaching Profession and Their Professional Development (Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia, 5/2011), and allows participants to earn 36 ECTS credits, which are required as a condition for teaching in primary and secondary schools.

Objectives of the program

The program is focused on: acquiring and applying modern pedagogical, psychological, and methodological knowledge about the educational process at both macro and micro levels; familiarizing with the fundamental pedagogical-psychological-methodological principles of teaching; introducing the relevant theoretical-empirical knowledge base that underlies successful learning and teaching; and fostering the development of teaching competencies necessary for educational and teaching activities.

Target group

The program is intended for all individuals who, based on their initial university education, meet the requirements regarding the level and type of education to perform teaching duties in educational institutions, but who did not acquire the necessary pedagogical, psychological, and general methodological competencies during their studies.

Admission requirements

Completed undergraduate academic studies with a minimum of 180 ESPB.

Organization and duration

The program is organized throughout the entire academic year, with a deadline for completing all required obligations limited to one calendar year from the date of enrollment in the program. After completing all the required obligations and passing the exams, participants are issued a Certificate of Completion for the Program for Acquiring Pedagogical, Psychological, and Methodological Competencies, as well as an Annex to the Certificate of Completion for the Program for Acquiring Pedagogical, Psychological, and Methodological Competencies.

  • The registration for the month of March will be from February 13 to February 27, 2025.
    • Training and consultations will be held from March 3 to March 17, 2025.
  • The registration for the month of May will be from April 29 to May 12, 2024.
    • Training and consultations will be held from May 13 to May 26, 2025.
  • The registration for the month of October will be September 23 to October 4, 2025.
    • Training and consultations will be held from October 18 to October 29, 2025.
