EXHIBITION OPENING: "BEHAUDIN SELMANOVIĆ – PAINTING OF THE CLEARING"

The University Gallery at the University of Novi Pazar hosted the grand opening of the exhibition "Behaudin Selmanović – Painting of the Clearing," realized in collaboration between the University of Novi Pazar and the Bosniak Institute – Adil Zulfikarpašić Foundation from Sarajevo.

The exhibition was officially opened by Prof. Dr. Mehmed Slezović, who emphasized the importance of promoting the artistic legacy of Behaudin Selmanović (1915–1972), a painter whose body of work holds a prominent position in the history of modern fine arts in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Addresses were also given by Prof. Dr. Suad Bećirović, Rector of the University of Novi Pazar, and Medžid Fakić, Director of the University Gallery. Aida Abdagić Hadžić spoke about Selmanović's creative path and artistic expression, while Ermin Lagumdžija, Curator of the Art Collection at the Bosniak Institute – Adil Zulfikarpašić Foundation, highlighted the cultural significance of the artist's oeuvre.

Selmanović's artwork is defined by refined color palettes, purified forms, and a subtle fusion of European modernist influences with elements of Oriental visual traditions. The exhibition title, "Painting of the Clearing," reflects a clarity of expression that makes room for a deeper experience of art.

Through this exhibition, the University of Novi Pazar reaffirms its commitment to cultural and artistic development, the preservation of valuable heritage, and the strengthening of partnerships with cultural institutions.
