International Conference "Islamic Moral Economy and Finance (IMEF) 2026" Held at the University of Novi Pazar
The IMEF 2026 conference was held at the University of Novi Pazar under the motto "Beyond Profit: Cultivating Universal Values and Intergenerational Equity through Islamic Moral Economy," dedicated to promoting universal values, ethics, and intergenerational equity through the perspective of Islamic moral economy.
The conference was opened by the Rector of the University of Novi Pazar, Professor Dr. Suad Bećirović, who emphasized the vital role of academic dialogue and institutional cooperation in addressing modern economic and societal challenges.
Following the Rector's opening address, the Financial Manager of the University of Novi Pazar, Asst. Prof. Dr. Haris Zogić, addressed the audience. On this occasion, certificates of appreciation were presented to the conference partners and co-organizers Dr. Muhammed El-Saghir and Prof. Dr. Alija Avdukić. A certificate of appreciation was also awarded to the general sponsor of the event, Halkbank from the Republic of Türkiye.
The first day of the conference featured three panel sessions. The first panel, "Shared Values Among Mankind – Universal Ethics and Economic Justice," was dedicated to common human values, universal ethics, and economic justice. The second panel, "Sustainable Finance for Future Generations: Intergenerational Equity and Green Finance," addressed sustainable finance, green economy, and stewardship for future generations.
The third panel, "Islamic FinTech and Ethical Entrepreneurship: Bridging ‘Adl, Innovation, and Regional Growth," focused on modern entrepreneurial finance frameworks.
The conference brought together distinguished professors, researchers, and industry experts from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Indonesia, who exchanged insights and scientific achievements in Islamic economics, finance, and ethics through presentations and panel discussions.
The conference was organized in partnership with the University of Novi Pazar, the International Waqf Fund, and the University of Dundee.
