KUNP Manifestation Announced in Novi Pazar: Culture, Art, and Science in Focus During May

The KUNP manifestation – Culture, Art, and Science – has been announced at the University of Novi Pazar. It will be held from May 7th to 29th in Novi Pazar and will include a series of cultural and scientific events organized in cooperation with key cultural institutions in the city.

Several events that are part of the manifestation were announced at a press conference, where Prof. Dr. Jahja Fehratović, the Rector of the University Prof. Dr. Suad Bećirović, the Dean of the Department of Arts and Philology Prof. Dr. Asmir Husović, and the President of the literary competition jury Prof. Zehnija Bulić spoke.

Fehratović pointed out that the manifestation is organized in cooperation with key cultural institutions in the city – the "Dositej Obradović" Public Library, the Cultural Center, and the "Ras" Homeland Museum, with the aim of raising cultural life to a higher level.

The Rector of the University of Novi Pazar, Suad Bećirović, emphasized that the goal of the manifestation is to put culture at the forefront.

"Our university initiated this manifestation with a clear goal to put culture in first place. We have declared May the month of culture, and the motto of the manifestation is 'knowledge meeting inspiration'," said Bećirović.

He added that Novi Pazar, in addition to sports and gastronomy, has rich cultural potentials that are not sufficiently highlighted.

"We want to show the resources not only of the university but of the entire city when it comes to culture," he emphasized.

The manifestation will last from May 7th to 29th, with the central program planned for the first few days. As Fehratović stated, KUNP has the ambition to become one of the key cultural events in the region.

"On the first day, May 7th, an exhibition by one of the most significant European and world painters, Safet Zec, will be opened, which is an event that transcends regional boundaries," said Fehratović.

On the second day, May 8th, panels and discussions are planned at several locations in the city, with the participation of experts from Serbia, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Topics will include the development of culture, literature and migration, as well as the relationship between media and culture.

"It will be a day of dialogue, with the aim of gathering relevant actors from the fields of culture and science," said Fehratović.

The third day, May 9th, will be dedicated to the awarding of prizes within the literary and scientific competition, symbolically on Europe Day.

The Dean of the Department of Arts and Philology, Asmir Husović, emphasized the significance of Safet Zec's visit.

"It is a great honor that after several decades we have the opportunity to host one of the most significant living artists in Europe in Novi Pazar," said Husović, adding that students will have the opportunity to speak directly with the artist.

The President of the literary competition jury, Zehnija Bulić, stated that interest in the competition exceeded expectations.

"135 works arrived from the entire region, which shows that we have managed to connect authors and the literary scene of the Balkans," said Bulić.

The organizers expect KUNP to grow into a traditional manifestation that will significantly contribute to the development of the cultural and scientific scene of Novi Pazar and the wider region.
