Welcome to the IMEF Conference
We are proud to announce the third edition of this international scientific gathering, continuing our mission to bridge the gap between ethical theory and economic practice. Our world is currently grappling with a convergence of profound economic and ecological challenges.
From the daily pressures of rising inflation and global instability to the long-term threats of climate change and the depletion of finite natural resources, the strain on our planet and its 8 billion inhabitants has reached an unprecedented level.
Dominant economic models, built on linear consumption — "take, make, dispose" — continue to drive overproduction and inequality. Against this backdrop, the search for sustainable and just systems is no longer a choice, but a necessity. This third edition of the conference seeks to go "Beyond Profit" by exploring a deeper ethical and spiritual transformation.

From an Islamic perspective, the notion of Mīzān (balance) is fundamental; the Qur’an reminds us not to transgress the divine balance that governs nature and human behavior. By viewing resources as an Amānah (trust), we can foster an economy based on stewardship, moderation (Wasatiyyah), and justice (‘Adl). This conference aims to demonstrate how these universal values can be mobilized through Islamic finance to ensure intergenerational equity, creating a resilient future for generations to come.
