The University of Novi Pazar marked World Down Syndrome Day with the program “Inclusion Without Borders: Visible, Loved, Important – Together for a Better World”.

In the presence of numerous guests, the program was opened by the university rector, Prof. Dr. Suad Bećirović, the head of the Department of Pedagogical and Psychological Sciences, Prof. Dr. Samir Ljajić, and the mayor of Novi Pazar, Nihat Biševac, who emphasized the importance of inclusion and support for people with Down syndrome.

The event was divided into two segments – a workshop and an educational panel. The workshop brought smiles and joy through play and joint activities, while the panel provided inspirational messages and valuable insights. The audience was also addressed by Amina Hasanović Ljajić and Azra Crnovršanin, representatives of Centar Code, who highlighted the importance of support and resources for children with Down syndrome. Personal stories and experiences were shared by Sara Bero, Alma Čolović Mededović, and Emina Hujević, mothers of children with Down syndrome, whose speeches were filled with emotions, strength, and motivation.

Through initiatives like this, we build a society where everyone is equal, supported, and accepted.
