Message from the Head of the Department

Welcome to the Department of Legal Sciences of the University of Novi Pazar!

The Department of Legal Sciences has existed since the very foundation of the University, organized through two modules: General Law and Internal Affairs Law. Eminent experts from the country and abroad teach at the Department of Legal Sciences. Teaching is completely interactive, conducted using the most modern methods in the form of lectures and exercises, as well as practical work, attendance at trials, visits to forensic centers, penitentiaries and other state bodies. The exercises are performed in small groups, with the aim of paying special attention to the practical application of acquired knowledge in solving specific legal problems.

The modern Law study program, with two modules, General Law and Internal Affairs Law, provides the opportunity for future law graduates, depending on the chosen module, to competently participate in the modeling and analysis of general and special theoretical and practical knowledge and skills, required for independent practice legal affairs in the judiciary, prosecution, bar, police, economy, banks, security services and other private and state institutions and organizations, as well as for passing the judicial and appropriate state exams.

The goals of the Law study program are the mastery of academic and practical skills and methods for achieving professional competence in the field of justice, administration and local self-government, criminal and security activities, but also the development of creative abilities. Namely, students are trained to independently organize work and prepare conditions for the smooth development of the work process of leadership and management. Such education will enable them to be employed in all public and private activities in Serbia and the European Union. As participants in various competitions, debates, projects, holders of many awards and certificates, our students are recognizable already during their studies, after which they are fully prepared to perform duties as a graduate lawyer.

As a higher education institution, we pay special attention to scientific and research work, organization of international conferences, publishing, participation in domestic and international projects, as well as constant improvement of the teaching staff. In order to publish scientific and professional works, we also founded a special journal of the Department of Legal Sciences, "Pravne teme". The journal is scientifically categorized and authors from different countries of the world publish works in it.

The University of Novi Pazar ensures that students are always in the first place through the continuous education of its employees and the quality control system. The ultimate goal of the Department of Legal Sciences is to create quality experts and scientists in the field of law, as well as to raise the general level of legal awareness as one of the essential elements in building a legal state.
