- Doc. Dr. Dženis Bajramović is an assistant professor in Business Information Systems at the University of Novi Pazar. He holds a PhD in Economics and is the author of numerous academic and professional publications.
- He was born on May 1, 1985, in Priština, where he completed elementary school. In 1999, he continued his secondary education in Novi Pazar, enrolling in the Gymnasium, linguistics track. In 2003, he began his studies in “Management in Trade” at the Faculty of Economics, University of Kragujevac. He earned his PhD in Economics in 2024 at the University of Novi Pazar, defending the dissertation titled Strategic Planning in Civil Engineering as an Opportunity for Further Growth and Development of Novi Pazar, under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Mehmed Meta.
- Dr. Bajramović began his academic career in 2010 as a teaching assistant at the University of Novi Pazar. Over the years, he advanced to the position of assistant professor in October 2023 at the Department of Economics and Computer Science.
- In parallel with his academic endeavors, Dr. Bajramović has a distinguished business career. In late 2008, he started working for the textile companies Cotton’s Time Division and Holsen, continuing there until May 2011. From 2012 to 2021, he played a pivotal role in the growth of Iko Company d.o.o., where annual revenue increased from €500,000 in 2011 to €2.9 million in 2022. He participated in the construction of over 200 apartments, 100 garages, and several commercial spaces, establishing the company as a local leader in the construction market.
- In 2017, he assumed the position of Head of the Publishing Center at the University of Novi Pazar. Under his leadership, the journal Economic Challenges gained greater recognition, entering the ERIH PLUS database in 2022 as one of the most respected Serbian economic journals with an M23 category. In 2023, the journal was designated as a top national publication with an M51 category by the Serbian Ministry of Science. Dr. Bajramović also serves as the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Economic Challenges.
- In October 2023, he was appointed Head of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI) at the University of Novi Pazar, and in October 2024, he assumed the position of Head of the Department of Economics and Computer Science.
- Dr. Bajramović is a family man, a husband, and the father of three children.
Responsibilities of the Head of the Department
The Head of the Department is appointed by the Rector, with a positive opinion from the Council. The appointment is made from among the teaching staff employed at the University for a term of three academic years, with the possibility of reappointment.
The Head of the Department has the following responsibilities:
- Represents and advocates for the Department;
- Ensures legality and proper functioning within the Department;
- Organizes, coordinates, and oversees the Department's operations and business activities, determines individual assignments for faculty and associates in scientific-research projects, and ensures the fulfillment of educational and research activities;
- Proposes class schedules for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral studies in consultation with the Vice-Rector for Education, and, in cases of disruptions, proposes exam schedules and examiners with prior consultation;
- Chairs the Teaching and Research Council, prepares, and proposes the agenda for its sessions;
- Participates in the work of the Senate;
- Proposes general acts of the Department in accordance with the Law, the Collective Agreement, and the Statute;
- Suggests to the Teaching and Research Council and the Senate measures for improving the Department's operations, initiates proposals, and recommends solutions on issues important to the Department's activities;
- Implements and enforces decisions made by higher University bodies and the Department's Teaching and Research Council;
- Proposes business strategies for the Department and measures for their implementation;
- Recommends the Admissions Commission and the Commission for conducting entrance exams for the Department;
- Signs diploma supplements;
- Performs other tasks as stipulated by the Law, this Statute, and other general acts of the Department.

Graduates from our department are ready to face the challenges of a modern, accelerated economy increasingly reliant on AI tools and digital marketing.

Study Program: Computer Science
The undergraduate academic program in Computer Science combines professional and scientific knowledge at the highest level. We focus on programming, databases, information systems, computer networks, web design, and internet programming. Our students benefit from fully aligned programs with European standards, ensuring easier integration into the global job market.
Interactive teaching and modernly equipped computer labs provide practical experience and the skills required for the most sought-after jobs in the IT sector. Through competitions like Hackathon at the University of Novi Pazar and other national and international events, students are trained to take risks and demonstrate their theoretical and practical knowledge, further enhancing their ability to establish startups.
Our graduates successfully work across the region and internationally. The department’s international character allows students to continue their education or start their careers in Europe and beyond.
Study Program: Business Informatics
The undergraduate academic program in Business Informatics combines computer science and business economics, offering students theoretical and practical knowledge on applying IT in various economic sectors. The program aims to create graduates skilled in creatively solving problems and applying the latest computing techniques in business contexts.
In a world witnessing the rise of AI, Cloud Computing, IoT, Blockchain, and other technologies, this program equips students with skills tailored for both small and large enterprises. Students gain expertise in IT, programming, project management, and web design.
Through student competitions such as Business challenge and Hackathon at the University of Novi Pazar, as well as other national and international competitions, students develop the ability to take risks and demonstrate their knowledge, preparing them for entrepreneurship and start-up creation.
