UNIVERSITY OF NOVI PAZAR
The University of Novi Pazar was founded in 2002 as an endowment (waqf), with the goal of making education and the continuous pursuit of knowledge the most prominent and recognizable aspects of this region. Academic Muamer Zukorlić, along with several fellow visionaries, initiated this mission. With the support of the then Prime Minister, the late Dr. Zoran Đinđić, a new model of university was launched that would serve as a bridge, offering a fresh approach to higher education and science. The establishment of the University of Novi Pazar provided young people with the opportunity to gain both theoretical and practical knowledge and skills, enabling them to apply what they learned within their own country and achieve successful careers.

Glavna misija Univerziteta je da dâ svoj doprinos društvu kroz obrazovanje, učenje i istraživanje na najvišem međunarodnom nivou. Njegova misija je da istražuje, očuva i širi znanje; stvara sredinu za kreativan rad i podstiče kulturu koja obuhvata široka shvatanja unutar i izvan akademske zajednice. Univerzitet, također, teži da kroz svoj javni rad, unaprijedi živote studenata, ali i šire društvene zajednice.
Naš Univerzitet, studenti i osoblje, teže ovim ciljevima u kontekstu slobode sa određenom društvenom odgovornošću. Bodrimo inicijativu, integritet i predanost u akademskoj sredini i sredini odgovornog upravljanja.
Making knowledge accessible to young people is one of our guiding principles. Interactive teaching and mentoring are key characteristics of the University of Novi Pazar. In addition to adapting to contemporary trends, the University tailors its study programs to meet the needs and changes in the labor market. To ensure that graduates can easily find employment, practical training is an integral part of the study programs, providing students with the knowledge necessary for further work.
As a responsible societal organization, we apply the results of our research in the service of the community, region, and country. The integral and unique role of the University is reflected in the preservation and enhancement of intellectual and cultural heritage. The core of the University lies in its commitment to the highest scientific and educational processes, which serve a diverse and well-prepared student body, promote a high level of academic achievement, and provide appropriate accompanying services. One of the key characteristics of the University is its dedication to scientific research, education, and creative endeavors, focusing on organized programs to create, maintain, and apply new knowledge and skills, as well as new theories that foster institutional quality and efficiency, and increase institutionally relevant qualifications.
The University is an obvious example of multiculturalism and multi-confessionalism, as it ensures cultural, ethnic, and gender diversity among its faculty and students. The University is dedicated to preparing a university community that values the critical importance of a quality work and living environment in an interdependent global society.
The University attracts students from the surrounding area, as well as from other regions, with its unique academic program, theoretical research foundations, applied research, and creative activities that serve as the driving force of the local community and the entire region.
We constantly adapt to societal changes and achieve our mission by following contemporary social trends. Of particular importance to us is the integral development of society. The University is not an isolated entity in society but its epicenter. This is why we have established centers that will connect theory and practice so that society as a whole benefits from our knowledge—while we also learn something new from social actors.
