The University Gallery of the University of Novi Pazar hosted the ceremonial opening of the exhibition “Riznica Mandić” (Mandić Treasury), presented as a selection from one of the most significant private collections of contemporary art in Serbia. This collection was built up during the long-standing work of the art colony “Kolut Mandić,” one of the most recognizable and longest-running art colonies in the region.

The “Kolut Mandić” colony has been active for more than 40 years and is known for gathering renowned artists from Serbia, Montenegro, and numerous other countries. Throughout its existence, it has realized more than three hundred exhibitions both domestically and abroad, and the works created within the colony represent an important segment of the contemporary fine art scene.

The first speaker was Mr. Medžid Fakić, who discussed the significance of this collection and its value to the cultural space of Serbia. Next, the Head of the Department of Art and Philological Sciences, Assistant Professor Asmir Husović, spoke, emphasizing the role of the University Gallery in nurturing and presenting contemporary art to a broader audience. Finally, the exhibitor himself, Kolut Mandić, addressed the audience, providing insight into the process of the collection's creation, the experience of working with numerous artists, and the decades-long development of the “Kolut Mandić” colony.
