ROUND TABLE: “A SOCIETY OF EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES – THE PATH TO SOCIAL JUSTICE” 

Today, at the University of Novi Pazar, on the occasion of the International Day of Social Justice, a round table was held, organized by the Department of Legal Sciences. This day, celebrated worldwide on February 20, highlights the importance of reducing social inequalities, fighting poverty, and ensuring equal opportunities for all members of society. The goal is to strengthen solidarity and create a system that enables every individual to live a dignified life. 

The event was opened by Rector Prof. Dr. Suad Bećirović, emphasizing the importance of education and an interdisciplinary approach in building a more just society.

The panel featured presentations by:

• Dipl. Lawyer Esma Lakota – Representative of the Center for Social Work
• Prof. Dr. Samir Ljajić – The impact of mass media
• Prof. Dr. Maida Bećirović Alić – Aspects of human rights
• Doc. Dr. Jasmina Nikišić – The role of the family
• Doc. Dr. Samra Dečković – Criminal law aspects
• Doc. Dr. Dženis Bajramović – Economic aspects

We are especially pleased that students showed great interest and actively participated in the discussion, asking questions and expressing their views on the challenges and opportunities for improving social justice in our society.

The round table provided a platform for a constructive exchange of opinions, and the conclusions and messages from the discussion will be valuable for further work in this field.
