Likovna umjetnost (MAS)

Fine Arts - Painting

Graduate (Master's) Studies

Basic Information about the Program

Due to the fact that artistic studies are based on rare and specific talents, the purpose of artistic development is to deepen the visual sensibility, as well as all components of the creative potential of young artists, including imagination, innovation, creative courage, and responsibility. The goal is also to form an independent, socially responsible artistic personality capable of independent artistic creation. Students continue to develop their personal artistic expression and creativity, preparing themselves for independent work, exhibitions, artistic workshops, and other activities.

In line with this, the program aims to deepen acquired artistic and technical knowledge through focused artistic and technical research, enabling students to interpret and create original concepts in visual arts.

Along with subjects such as pedagogy, psychology, and methodology of visual arts education that students study during their undergraduate studies, the second level of studies adds subjects such as "Reading Artworks" and "National History of Serbian Art," which round off the group of courses that prepare students for a variety of careers, including cultural program animators, gallery curators or managers in the cultural sector, organizers of cultural programs in cultural centers, and directors of cultural institutions.

Degree and Employment Opportunities

By completing the Fine Arts program, the student becomes capable of executing complex works using traditional painting materials and techniques such as tempera, oil, acrylic, pastel, etc., on various surfaces (canvas, paper, wood, etc.), which they can independently prepare. They are trained to combine traditional and modern artistic media and respond to the most challenging spatial concepts of both classical and monumental painting, as well as the demands of contemporary artistic practices.

Upon completing this program, students earn the title of Master of Fine Arts.

The Master's academic program in Fine Arts lasts for one academic year, comprising two semesters, and has a total of 60 ECTS credits.
