The Educational and Scientific Council of the department is composed of:

1. The Head of the Department;
2. Four faculty members, with no more than one from the ranks of assistants.

The mandate of council members lasts for three years, with the possibility of reappointment. 

Responsibilities of the Educational and Scientific Council:

1. Proposes decisions to the Senate regarding the preparation and defense of master’s theses, postgraduate work, and doctoral dissertations.

2. Suggests measures to the Senate for the development of the department.
3. Reviews the department’s study programs and prepares relevant proposals for the Senate, considering the input from respective chairs.
4. Establishes criteria and measures to ensure the quality of study programs and scientific work within the department.
5. In collaboration with the respective chair, plans the department’s staff development and submits proposals to the Senate.
6. Coordinates the organization and delivery of teaching and promotes interdisciplinary study programs within the University.
7. Ensures adequate representation and delivery of courses within the department.
8. Encourages and provides opinions on launching interdisciplinary research projects.
9. Gives opinions on establishing laboratories, institutes, research units, development centers, enterprises, etc., related to the department.
10. Coordinates cooperation with scientific institutes working in the scientific field of the department.
11. Initiates procedures for the establishment, status changes, or closure of the department.
12. Performs other tasks in accordance with the University Statute and general acts.
